System Security Updates
A absorb weekend, a busy week, and then...
My AOL Security Monitor has been stuck at 78 out of 100, and the hornet's nest has been my spyware protection. I touch I had such a program, but today I ended up grabbing Spybot Search and End. It is recommended by many people including Kim Komando, army of a computer talk show you should try to find on your local announce station.
I had been intending to do so formerly, and finally downloaded the Windows Defender and the Windows Malicious Software Dethroning Tool, both of which help with computer security. These are not anti-virus programs, or firewalls, the two kinds of programs that most often get into conflicts. They are more like anti-spyware programs, and I do tout them.
With these programs installed, my AOL Security Monitor has jumped up to 92. Plainly my antivirus is out of date, but that will fix itself presently enough. (Thanks to auto-update!) It's good-hearted to know that I have most of the protection I constraint working well.
I have tried Ad-Au fait 2007, but although previous versions seemed to labour, the newer one has not done so well for me. It opens, and many hours later I see that the scanner is still waiting for the precision updates. Today I removed the program and downloaded it once again, and peradventure this will fix it. Sometimes subtle errors in unwritten law' creep into a download or instal, and starting over is the best fix.
May I praise Auslogics Disk Defrag to you? It runs faster than the elementary Windows defrag utility, and seems to do a less ill job of defragmenting the free lapse. It does report any bevy of "useless" files that it thinks should be removed, and offers a association to the Auslogics web site where you can buy the other program. But you possibly don't need the paid one because there are untied ones available! Windows disk cleanup does a peaches job of getting rid of the bulk of instal files anyway.
More later.
